What was happening during the transformation of Germans into Nazis?

During the years of the Germans transformation into Nazis, 1918-1933, in The Rise and Fall of Prohibition in Baltimore, Maryland. During the 1920's in America they have been trying to push Prohibition. An especially famous case is that of Baltimore, Maryland. They were trying to ban all alcohol to become a dry nation. Now people did not like this too much. Baltimore become the center of the movement against the Prohibition of alcohol, which was passed as and 18th amendment at the end of WWI. They were the rebels of the time! They continued to sell and disperse wet liquor even though it was illegal. They were one of the main reasons that the Prohibition was annulled here in the United states of America. This battle for our right to drink liquor continued throughout Germany's political battle of Germans into Nazis.

Timeline of Germans becoming Nazis

The Germans became Nazis through a long process or brutal war and political override.

1914- World War I gave the Germans a since of unity and togetherness. This was also when they began to really realize that they wanted change in their politics.

1918/1919- World War I was over and the Germans were crushed by their defeat. They wanted to have that nationalism they had at the beginning of the war that they had lost. The Germans were very upset that the Treaty of Versailles was signed and they wanted political change. They started the November Revolution that confirmed that the Germans were ready for political change and to be unified again as a nation.

1924/1925- Hitler's campaign of his Nationalist Socialist German Workers Party was taking off. He gave a new radical idea that no other party had provided the German people before. Many of the main stream parties also ran for political rights, but they were crushed by the overwhelming popularity for Adolf Hitler’s party.

1933-Hitler and the Nazis really took over. Their campaign was a success, even though their ideals were not necessarily sanctioned nor humane they were successful which allowed them to continue in power. There radical actions made Germany powerful again and that made the Germans very happy. They brought back the nationalism that every German wanted even if it meant being murders.

How Germans Became Nazis

I chose to study how the Germans were led to become the homicidal Nazis. While researching this I learned that a string of long war, political upset and nationalism were all a cause of the everyday German becoming a Nazi. Entering World War I there was a strong alliance found amongst all Germans with the sharing of strong nationalism. It broke down barriers between occupation, class and religion. After the Germans lost World War I their country was very shaken up, they lost their unity and they wanted it back. They fought for a political reformation and it came when Adolf Hitler introduced his new party. A party focused on the idea of "Volksgemeinschaft", meaning a community that cut across the lines of occupation, class, and region. It made the Germans comfortable, they really wanted that initial unity that they had prior to the defeat of World War I. Hitler promised this but only if they followed him and became Nazis, although the people disliked their Anti-Semitism they wanted that nationalism and unity back. They shrugged it off to be happy again to be a strong unified country.
